Smartphones and Pedestrian Behaviour
نویسندگان
چکیده
The article deals with the behaviour of pedestrians using a smartphone. work aims to describe smartphone while walking and survey factors that lead this behaviour. data gathering was performed at marked pedestrian crossing without signals in Olomouc. statistics question were collected via observation interviews. A total 2689 observed 90 people took part structured interview. We 15% use their walking. found out who are holding hand walk safely across less often, rely on others more often when they group, step into road cars supposed give way them. Furthermore, we group same time phone or had headsets likely be guided by companions than not distracted.

Advanced Pedestrian Positioning System to Smartphones and Smartwatches
In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in the development of pedestrian navigation systems for satellite-denied scenarios. The popularization of smartphones and smartwatches is an interesting opportunity for reducing the infrastructure cost of the positioning systems. Nowadays, smartphones include inertial sensors that can be used in pedestrian dead-reckoning (PDR) algorithms fo...
متن کاملImage-Based Localization Aided Indoor Pedestrian Trajectory Estimation Using Smartphones
Accurately determining pedestrian location in indoor environments using consumer smartphones is a significant step in the development of ubiquitous localization services. Many different map-matching methods have been combined with pedestrian dead reckoning (PDR) to achieve low-cost and bias-free pedestrian tracking. However, this works only in areas with dense map constraints and the error accu...
متن کاملMonitoring Pedestrian Spatio-Temporal Behaviour
One of the major issues in the development of mobile pedestrian navigation services concerns the poor understanding of pedestrian spatiotemporal behaviour. Findings reveal that human route choice behaviour relies on a huge variety of influence factors. Therefore, common concepts like those used in car navigation systems will not conform to the requirements of pedestrians, as people on foot do n...
متن کاملCity tourism – pedestrian orientation behaviour
This paper focuses on the orientation behaviour of pedestrian city tourists. It explores the importance of landmarks for pedestrian orientation and shows the results of a study conducted 2005/06 in Vienna. The hypothesis of the study is that better orientation and guiding systems will lead to more and longer trips on foot. Individual tourists combine public transport with long walking distances...

The investigation of pedestrian spatio-temporal behaviour is of particular interest in many different research fields. Disciplines like travel behaviour research and tourism research, social sciences, artificial intelligence, geoinformation and many others have approached this subject from different perspectives. Depending on the particular research questions, various methods of data collection...
